Fleet Week in San Francisco

Last weekend the Goddards came over for a quick visit!  While they were here we went to Bochee Ball in Livermore, and Fleet week in SF.  The weather was perfect!  Lots of people but it was well worth it.  Kevin and I had a good time seeing Jim and Jane, as well as Kim and the girls.  Here are some of the pictures from the weekend!  As you can tell Kevin has a new right arm "Taya".  She loves her uncle Kevin!  I sure hope we don't have girls cause Kevin is such a softy when it comes to little girls!

Hair clips and pins

Last week my friend Jen came to visit from Sacramento.  Our main objective in her visit was to go to the Fabmo distribution on Friday.  While she was here she showed me how to make some cute hair flowers for little girls!  They are so cute and easy to make once you get the hang of it!  You start with an origami flower and can add a button or a gem for the center.  These are so cute for summer!  We are going to sell them at the fabmo event in October!  Can't wait I am sure they will be a hit!
See video on how to make one of the flowers.

Salt Point Camping trip

This year for our 3 year anniversary we decided to do something a little different.  Kevin and I took a road trip along highway one to Salt Point State Park (northern California).  We camped for two nights.  Not my idea of luxury living but it was nice to wake up and be surrounded by redwoods and hear the sound of the ocean.  We did a six mile hike though the redwoods and back down to the coast.  Needless to say two days later we are still a little sore.

New bags in the etsy shop!

I started to make these bags with re-purposed fabric and can't stop!  They are so cute and so practical!  I added a flower pin as an added accessory!  I can't wait to go to the fabmo distribution on the 24th so I can get more cool fabrics to make more of these bags.  All the bags are lined with 100% cotton fabric and have a zipper.  I love the retro feel of mixing fabrics that you wouldn't necessarily put together.  It gives it a unique look, that can only be achieved by something that is hand made!

Etsy and Fabmo

I have been going to this fabric collection for over a year now called Fabmo (fabric and more).  It is a great organization with lots of nice people.  The basic idea behind it is that you can come collect fabric for FREE!  Yes Free!  It is totally awesome!  All of the fabric is designer fabric that would end up in landfills if it wasn't for these nice people who come and collect it and let people like me go through it every month and take it and turn it into sewing projects!  I have a section on my etsy page labeled re-purposed which is basically all fabric from Fabmo!

Oh ya, and they have a great event once a year that I am participating in again with my good friend Jen, where you can sell your stuff!  October 23rd from 10-5pm at the Quadrus Conference Center in Palo Alto.

What a blog?... Do I really have that much time on my hands?

So I decided to do a blog.  Never thought I would want to post my life on an open forum.  But here I am putting it out there... well most of it.  I am doing this more about creative things I do than to publicly display my life.  I plan to put little personal info. .. sorry stalkers.  More just fun crafts I make and things like that.  Hope its interesting!
